I’ve been lazy with these weekend posts now that Nadia is out of gymnastics and I don’t have that mindless alone time that I use up by creating these posts. Last week I was busy with a special project I needed to work on. I don’t want to say anything about it just yet because I don’t know what is going on with it yet and do not want to jinx anything. You may know that my area suffered a tornado and there is a lot of damage in our area – luckily mostly in the form of fallen trees and power lines. We are a very woodsy area. If you follow me on snapchat (@cookiedesire), I’ve been sharing pictures and videos of the aftermath. Yesterday a tree that snapped in half and was dangling from one of our trees finally fell and took out a portion of the fence. We are looking for a chainsaw now so that wee may begin breaking it down. Our neighbors had already finished with their trees, so I am hoping they will be able to spare their tools. Our power was out from Tuesday to Friday and I have to say, I have never appreciated electricity as much as I do now. I made a peach rhubarb crisp in the grill which helped tide over my urges to bake, but not by much. The moment the electricity came on, I made cookies and also a nice little treat I am sharing with you on Wednesday.
