⅓cupplus ¼ cup almond milk (more if you prefer a thinner consistency)
Instructions
Finely dice the apple. Add the butter (or coconut oil) to a skillet and heat on medium. Add the apples and cook for about 2 minutes. Add the cinnamon, maple syrup, water, vanilla, and salt. Cook until a everything starts to thicken. Set aside to cool to room temperature. (I speed this up by placing in the freezer)
In a small bowl mix together the oats, chia seeds, salt, and cinnamon together. Add in the vanilla, maple syrup, and almond milk. (I prefer thick overnight oats, but you can add ⅔ cup or even ¾ cup of milk if you prefer yours thinner).
In your containers for breakfast, add a layer of the apples, then top with the oats. Cover tightly then place in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
