There was a time when I was not much of a coffee drinker, but after years of early school mornings, I've become a true advocate for that delicious nectar. In many ways, I've also become a bit of a snob, discovering what I like out of a good cup of coffee.

Normally, I would prefer going to the coffee shop to grab my coffee because it seemed impossible to make a cup of coffee that I liked at home. I just couldn't get that fresh, deep flavor that I prefer. Now, however, there just isn't always time to fit a trip in while I prepare for the holidays.

Plus, I've recently discovered that Mr. Coffee® (which I found at Target) actually makes a pretty good cup of coffee. It's no wonder they're America's #1 coffee maker brand.

Part of what makes their coffee better is that you can actually fully clean more parts of the maker so you start with a truly clean coffee maker each time. The parts exposed to the grounds and water (everything except the base), can be disassembled and put in the dishwasher for a thorough clean.

You can also set the Mr. Coffee® 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker with Dishwashable Design to make your coffee when you need it aka, you can wake up to that energizing scent of coffee first thing in the morning.

The Mr. Coffee® 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker with Dishwashable Design really helps me to share moments with my family in the mornings by allowing me more time to spend with them as the coffee brews automatically (and gets cleaned in the dishwasher) while we prepare our breakfast and talk about what we will do for the day. Those easy mornings are becoming a fond memory and ritual for us all.

The same goes for being able to share a cup of coffee with company whenever they stop by. The impressive 12 cups means there is always enough coffee to go around for us to drink and soak up each other's company.

    How to Make Mocha Creamer

Making your own creamer is so easy. I prefer using a mix of sweetened condensed milk and milk as my base. From there, add in any of your favorite flavorings.

For this mocha creamer, we add a lot of chocolate, a touch of vanilla, and just a little powdered sugar so you don't need to worry about adding any to your coffee after the creamer.

I prefer my mocha to taste almost as if I am drinking hot chocolate with some coffee in it. It just reminds me of the cozy holiday feeling, and I think you would appreciate that as well.

The extra chocolate does usually need the powdered sugar to keep the creamer from seeming too bitter. You can also substitute some of the cocoa powder with chocolate syrup or melted chocolate if you don't have any powdered sugar around.

How to Make Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer

You can convert this creamer into something even more festive for the holidays! I love a good peppermint mocha, and this is the perfect base for just that.

All you need to do is add a few drops of peppermint extract to the creamer. Start with ¼ teaspoon, then work your way up if you want more peppermint flavor.

Just remember to take it slow because peppermint is very strong, and you don't want your coffee to taste like you are drinking chocolate toothpaste.

How to Store Your Coffee Creamer

This creamer is dairy-based and requires to be placed in the refrigerator. It will keep for longer if it is in an airtight container. I prefer recycling an older creamer container or even using a water bottle.

You can freeze the creamer, too. I prefer to freeze it in ice cube trays, then placing those in an airtight container. It makes thawing it faster. When you are ready to thaw, place the cubes in the refrigerator in a container overnight.

    Need More Caffeine?

I feel like I can't get enough either. I recommend checking out my coffee-flavored cake or my coffee cupcakes to use up any leftover coffee you might have.

Don't forget to look for the Mr. Coffee® 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker with Dishwashable Design at your local Target! #NewellHomeRefresh
