    Pumpkin Cocktail

Tracking Pixel This maple pumpkin cocktail is like fall in a glass! Notes of cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom embody all the favorite parts of fall in this beautiful fall cocktail. This post was made in partnership with my friends at OXO! All thoughts and opinions are all my own! 🙂

Do you love the holidays as much as we do in our house? Now, we don’t start decorating for Christmas the moment Halloween ends. We like to enjoy and decorate for Thanksgiving just as much as Halloween and Christmas.

Right now we have fall-themed flowers and little turkeys everywhere. We have plans to do a little scarecrow craft. It’s just as fun for us as any other holiday. What do you do? Do you decorate for Thanksgiving, or do you prefer to go straight to the Christmas festivities?

Do you like to have family and friends over during the holiday seasons? It’s definitely one of my favorite things to do. To prepare, I love making different fall-inspired cocktails like this maple pumpkin cocktail. It embodies all the flavors of fall in one delicious and easy to drink cocktail.

Have you ever made a shrub before? A shrub is a mix of fruit (or vegetable!), sugar, sometimes herbs or spices, and vinegar. Yes, that’s right. Vinegar. Before you get freaked out, the drink doesn’t taste overwhelmingly like vinegar. It is present, but in a way that plays well with the other flavors. In this cocktail we use my favorite pumpkin shrubs recipe.

My holidays preparations wouldn’t be the same without the use of some of my favorite OXO products. I’ve been using their products for years - and many on a daily basis. I trust them for their quality and ease of use. Do you have a favorite OXO product? I love their Angled Measuring Cups, Steel Citrus Juicer, Steel Angled Jigger, and Spinning Bar Spoon. In general, their barware products are really nice quality.

I used a lot of OXO’s products to make this maple pumpkin cocktail. I love the Steel Angled Jigger because the patented angled surface allows me to easily see how much I am pouring in without having to bend over or strain my eyes. The No-Spill Ice Cube Tray makes it easy to always have ice on hand, even when the freezer starts to get crowded with our holiday food preparations since you can turn the tray on its side or pile things on top of it. The Spinning Bar Spoon, which I especially love for martinis, is great to mix your drink without chipping the ice. When the ice starts to chip, drinks can become frothy and watery, so the spinning spoon helps to prevent that.
What are your favorite drinks for the holidays?

    • 1.5 ounces seltzer or sparkling water
    • 1.5 ounces maple bourbon
    • 2 ounces pumpkin shrubs

    For a Crowd

    • 3 cups maple bourbon
    • 4 cups pumpkin shrubs
    • 3 cups seltzer or sparkling water

    Instructions

    • For one cocktail: Fill a glass with ice. Add the ingredients, and stir to combine. Enjoy immediately.
    • For a crowd: Mix together the bourbon and pumpkin shrubs in a chilled bowl. Top with the sparkling water when just about to serve.

    Notes

Can omit the sparkling water from the bowl, and have guests add the sparkling water to their drinks to keep the drink from going flat over time.
