    Caramel Apple Dip

This creamy, delicious fall-inspired dip is perfect for your holiday get-togethers! Everyone will fall in love with this unique caramel apple dip.

There is something about fall that makes me want caramel apple in every form possible. It isn't enough to simply eat caramel apples. I need to have it in any way possible like apple cider caramel, caramel apple cupcakes, and caramel apple upside-down cake.

It was long overdue for me to make a caramel apple dip. A lot of the caramel apple dips I found were simply caramely dips that were perfect for eating with your apples. I wanted to do something different and bring the apple flavor into the dip itself.

Don't worry though, you can still dip your apples into this creamy dip.

How to Make Caramel Apple Dip

We do a few things to make this dip amazing.

First, we start with the same ingredient we use for many of our favorite sweet dips: cream cheese. It brings a bit of tang and helps keep the dip a lusciously velvet consistency.

Next, we take apple cider and cook it down to a syrupy consistency. It almost makes it a bit of an apple cider extract. This gives us a nice hit of apple flavor without thinning down the dip.

Finally, we have caramel and toffee or honeycomb bits. I use salted caramel sauce in the dip to give it a nice caramel flavor without making the dip too sweet. You can also use regular caramel sauce, just be sure to remember to add a touch of salt to the dip to keep it from becoming cloying. The bits add a bit of texture and added flavor to the dip. You can go for toffee or honeycomb - whichever you can get your hands on works!

    Why This Dip Works

There is a balance with this caramel apple dip. It is thick and velvety enough to use as a spread on your graham crackers or even your toast.

It is smooth and fluffy enough to easily dip just about anything your imagination comes up with. If it goes with caramel or apple, it'll taste great here.

You get lots of caramel, but the apple still shines through as a bright pop of flavor. We don't add any extra sugar, so it isn't too sweet despite being a desserty dip. That means it is great to dip other sweeter things into like fruit.

How Long Does The Dip Last?

If you store this caramel apple dip right, it should last up to a week. You should be storing the dip in your refrigerator in an airtight container. When you are ready to serve, take out the dip to warm to room temperature, then give it a quick whip.

The dip does not freeze well for me, so I don't recommend freezing. If you do want to attempt to freeze it, allow it to thaw in the refrigerator before bringing it to room temperature.  If you do have success, please comment and share your tips!

I dip, you dip, we dip into this monster cookie dough dip and margarita dip. If you want something more savory, try this roasted red pepper hummus or whipped feta dip.
